Default kitten dialemma

ok so my d16y8 recently went turbo, it has a 2.5" exhaust, and has always had the stock catalytic converter on it.

2 days ago i had a test pipe made and slapped it on.....

after about $4000 on the motor, this $10 test pipe has made the most noticable gain..

of course the car throws a check engine light, is there any easy fix to this, if not then il just put the cat back on, but after having it off its gonna suck losing the extra power i gained by removing it in the first place,

so does anyone know how to fix this issues, dont worry bout emisions i kept the cat so i can slap it on and pass when the time comes

im sure you could find a solution if you searched for a few minutes... but one option is a spark plug de-fouler.

Use a high flow cat, keep the power, avoid killing the air, and get rid of the CEL. Its a nice all in 1 solution.

So removing the cat in the y8 will throw a CEL? I thought as long as you kept the O2 it wouldnt throw one? Im boosting in a couple of days as well, have a CEL and thought installing the missing O2 would do the trick...if not it looks like I might have to do the same as you OP and get a high-flow cat

i have both sensors, yes it still throws a CEL, my friend said something about a o2 modulator or something like that, im not going with a high flow unless its my last option.

i wish i could just throw in a resistor somewhere, or fab somethin up, il have to keep researching i guess
