Default Shifting problems

IS it bad to shift gears without pressing the clutch pedal when the car is off? Also, my clutch is really hard to press down on and the shifting is rough...why is that and how can i fix it? I have a 1994 prelude si with about 109,000 miles on it

you could have the same problem that i had and i broke the presure plate. When the car is on put it in first and bury the pedal as hard as you can and see if the car pulls it self and you will know that the presure plate is not releasing. That is one way to tell i have done it 2.

Na, it isn't bad for tranny to shift car while it engine is off. Just like anything, over excessive could put slight wear.

As for the rough clutch. I think you might experience what I just went though. My slave and master clutch cylinders went, rough clutch, hard to shift, etc. I replaced them; now my car drives great. I went with Nissin parts, ummmm, JDM.

The slave was very easy to replace, but the master - sun of a bitch! I got cut, couldn't reach bolt, got brake fluid all over my face - good luck!

On the 4th it is most likey easier to get to the master cylinder... I have a 3rd generation.

Your pedal assist spring may have come off as this does happen with the Lude. Stick your head in the foot well and look to see the spring is slotted in place.
