Default shifting problems

when im at a complete stop and i try to put the gear into first, sometimes it gets stuck and i have to release the clutch and do it again. is this a normal thing with manual cars or is there something wrong with my clutch. i only have 23,000 miles on my car, is it time to replace my clutch? please help

I doubt this is the case with yours, but I had that problem when my clutch master cylinder started going. It was really hard to get into first when I have stopped at a red light, for example. otherwise, try shifting to other gears then back to first. Thst is normal (well, sort of).

that happens to me on occasion. it's annoying as ****. i just haven't gotten to fixin it yet, if that's possible. what i got into the habit of doing is when i'm at a stop and in neutral, i'll go to second and then shift to first, all w/o lifting the clutch. that usually takes care of it.

i would also like to know what the deal is with that.

I think it may be something that happens to alot of cars. My car does it, and so does my GF's prelude...

Yeah my 98 SH does that too, and so did my 91 CRX sometimes. I have a couple diff ways to getting it to go into gear. I do the thing where i blip the throttle, I also do the 2-1 shift. Other time i just let out on the clutch then push it back in and it seems to usually go. If not just touch the gas and it will

I drive a 97 SH and I have the same prob on occaision..

Like everyone else is saying, just give it a lil throttle and it pops right in..

I think its kind of ridiculous, I took my friend in a ride and this happened. He noticed I rev match alot when I drive (he is into drag racing, so I had to explain) and asked "you have to rev match from a stop??"

I am changing my clutch and flywheel right now..Im going to try running GM syncromesh MTF instead of Honda MTF an see if that helps at all..

Ill let you know..
