shifting problems
i can dry shift into gears fine but when i am actually driving the car sometimes i have to pretty much force the car into gear. ive read that this could be caused by a bad master cylinder but i have a cable clutch and not a hydraulic clutch. could a bad master cylinder still be the cause of my problem even though i dont have a hydraulic clutch? also, if not then what could be the problem?

unless your H2b id be looking at your cables.
but i cant tell you why it would shift at a stand still, but moving it will not.
what do you mean by dry shifting. is the car running?

Cables......I'd be willing to bet you used old ones, not NEW like I suggest. Also, the shifter on your trans may be toast.
Always use new cables when doing an H in a NON-H car.......
Then look into the Zip-Tie trick....lastly, don't fall victim to the H2B hype. You can go plenty fast with an H trans!

Re: shifting problems
most likely the cables. I had the same problem right after i did my h22a swap. if you ran the cable underneath the right side motor mount without tacking the cable to the wheel well the mount will pinch it making it hard to shift and after time it will eventually break the cable and you wont shift at all...I'd listen to the above and check cables. It's not fun when they break randomly. trust me.

No, that's where I got mine. They have to order them so it take a week or so. But where I am located it's the closest auto parts store besides a kragen that takes twice as long to order.
