i can. first of all, you should be able to muscle the top cuff off the shift **** so it slides down the shifter. then unscrew your ****. take off your console and under the console around the rim of the boot should be 4 (give or take a couple) screws to unscrew the base of the boot..and voila! shift boot is off.
by the way..if you have a black boot and are replacing it with something else and its in good condition- let me know i need a new one.. haha. good luck

its impossible for me to get just the shift **** off by pulling the boot down.... as hard as i'm pulling i'm afraid the boot is gonna rip first or come undone. I always end up reaching under the console with a screw driver and undoing the base of the boot, then swinging the whole thing (base and **** together) around to unscrew it.... its a b*$&h but it works.

You should be able to pull it down. Just grab the shitf boot at the top (dont pull the shift boot itself) and pull down, it snaps off.

^^ right. but to add to that, you can also pop it down with a flat head screwdriver if you find it hard to get started. (first time i pulled my dash apart i was afraid othe same thing). just wedge the flathead just above thr chrome cuff of the boot and twist- thus separating the **** and boot enough to ease it down. dont forget to do it on all four sides to make it easier on yourself. --PetroGuy..keep me updated..it isnt beige is it?

There is actualy a piece of plastic that you should just push in and the boot will separate from the ****. Don't think force is the best way to do it there. IMHO
