How did you get the console off with the shift boot still intact, but with the **** on? The shift boot is connected to the shifter via a little plastic mount....

unscrew the metal retainer under the boot that attaches the boot to the console. Then all you need to do is twist off the **** with the boot still atttached.

no, the plastic piece under the shift **** pops down, u might have to yank it hard, then the shift **** unscrews off, then you remove the 2 screws holding the console in and you just lift it out, becareful cause it is possible to rip your boot on the shift level when removed it, also u gotta d/c the hazzard light, cig lighter, and clock harnesses, then that **** just pops right out. oh yeah if u have a stereo system just unplug the harness for that and the antenna and the whole thing comes out, bam
