Sensor scam or no?
I recently replaced some generic b-pipe and muffler the previous owner put on with the stock parts for my 99 Prelude. The guys at the garage told me that doing this “broke” O2 sensor so that my engine and ATTS lights would likely always be on unless I had them replaced with new ones. They said there was a chance the problem would fix itself, and since the new parts would have close to doubled the cost of the muffler, I declined the additional parts and labor. Does this sound legit to anyone, or are they scamming me? The reason I ask is that I’ve heard since then that this particular garage has been known to scam people. It’s the Honda Auto Sport place on route 22 in Bridgewater NJ. Anyone got any thoughts about this?
I can pull the code, but I don’t have the list of what the codes mean. Is that posted somewhere easy to find? So far I’ve had no luck finding it. Also, I didn’t think I could clear the code out myself. Don’t I have to be at a Honda garage to do that? If not I’ll give it a whirl and hope that it stays gone.

as far as i know, as long as u werent running incredibly rich and gas and crap was getting all over the sensor it would be fine, theyre trying to take ur money as o2 sensors are pretty expensive
