If you have a Voltmeter, you can check for the signal (if any) the sensor is giving and check for shorts in the circuit. But chances are it just went bad and needs to be replaced...

The good news is that it's relatively easy to replace. But I think they do cost about $150-200 from Honda though...
Try http://www.hparts.com first. They usually have the lowest prices on OEM parts, and you won't pay sales tax...
