Removing my engine
So I am taking apart my engine so that I can get my head re-done and replace my rods and pistons.....I have taken off the battery, intake, headers, ps, ac, dizzy, and have drained radiator, and have unplugged a couple of tubes to the head....Where do I go from there.....Does anybody have a write-up of how to do this? I have searched but didnt find much....I have an h23a1 stock......
have you down a motor rip out b4?
I'd buy the workshop manual off ebay for 5$ and go from there. Its easier reading through it and then asking specific questions if you have problems understanding something. Someone telling you what to do even though you might not know what part he/she is even talking about isn't going to get you far.
Do you have access to a motor hoist?
It would save you half the time and 90% of the frustration if its pulled right out.
That and you can see what the hell your doing.
My 10cents, lable ALL CONNECTORS AND WIRES somehow someway and make sure you know where all vac lines etc go. Lable everything. Take your time too. if this is a rush job your going fo *** it up LARGE. do it once, do it right, do it well the first time

No I have never done a motor rip out....but I have swapped out trannys in my old integra a couple times....Yes I can get a motor hoist (thank god!) And I have been labeling every connector/wire.....and have been putting nuts/bolts in plastic bags and labeling them...I have been taking my time so far...but this is going to be my daily so I WOULD like to get it working as soon as possible....my dad has done engine rebuilds before, but he's the typical "AMERICAN MUSCLE RAAAWWR!!! I have 4 times the engine of your rice burner!!!" So all he has worked on are muscle cars back in the 80's
LOL thats too funny. i know the type. he wouldn't know a v tec from a j spec anyway though (maybe he would but you get the idea) Just learn it yourself. get the manual, and ask away here. lots of people have done engine swaps. Just try to be specific with your questions. Not "how do i do engine swap". if someone wanted to answer that question he'd have to type 400 pages of stuff for you. You sound like your at a good start though. Just keep labling (remember your vacuum hoses/gas lines too) and you'll do well.
good luck dude. OH YEAH, take lots of pictures of things your pulling apart. Digi camera is wonderfull with the zoom

There you go down load the service manual, and look up cylinder head

I hate having only 5 messages per 24 hour period!!!
