My motor is running real bad right now and i'm gonna be pulling it out soon. I have oversized type s pistons in it BUT with standard size rings. My block was done wrong to install the type s pistons so that's why my engine is a mess. I'm burning a lot of oil and the engine sounds like a putt putt. LOTs of power lost.
I want to be able to continue using my type s pistons with oversized rings this time, but I'm gonna have to resleeve the motor. I'm not gonna be running high power or boosting or anything ( just another rebuild ). Are there any regular sleeves I can use or do I have to go with high dollar ones like darton, GE, ETC.... My friend told me to go to benson to get it resleeved but i can't find the website or number (or is there any). I dont want to spend too much money or high dollar sleeves b/c i'm not gonna be running too much power or boosting. Can anybody recommend some places I can go??
I tried searching but all I seen was resleeving for big power or boosting with high dollar stuff.
thanks

Heres a link to a LA Sleeve distributor
http://www.importperformanceparts.net/
Most machine shops will charge anywhere from 100-300 to install them.

sounds like you're staying NA, not sure why you'd run the type s pistons in an FI application...
i'd recommed getting a good set of rings for those pistons...
they're the same "bore" as stock, but higher compression...
so you don't need to change the sleeves, unless they're damaged...
are you sure it's the pistons/rings that's causing your oil burning?

nOOO no boosting. I searched and found sleeving for boost. I'm gonna have to resleeve for a basic rebuild. I'll find out how my motor looks like when i pull it. I'll start pulling it when I have time. My b-day is comin up in less than a week. So i'll be busy for a bit. and what sucks is that i'm carless for my b-day.
Where's benson?? or how can I get in contact to them? There's a shop down here that can resleeve each cylinder for 60 a hole but i'll have to supply the sleeves. OR they can sell my some iron sleeves for 100-150. something around there. What Should I do???
