Default Reducing weight?

Well this one speaks for itself.
The only thing I ask is that we keep the car a comfortable daily driver.
Sacrifices for weight are OK but only logical sacrifices.

Thank you all

Huh? Only you can answer your question. How can we know what a "comfortable daily driver" means to you? If we say, "take out the AC", and you start whining that it'll get too hot, well then that wouldn't be logical then, right? Only you know

Remove anything you don't need for comfort and is a logical sacrifice...

exactly - and there's not a lot you probably could remove and keep it comfortable - but you could probably replace somethings with lighter substitutes.

either way, if you search, you'll find that this has been covered many times.

What I meat was that I didn't want responces like remove your dash, vents, seats, carpet, headlights, replace all body panels!!

Sorry I didn't elaborate, I just wanted opinions.

I did search and found verry little.

Why don't people just name some things they have done to there ludes and help me get some ideas for the not so obvious things you can do.

What kind of weight will I loose removing the non essentials?

Meaning racing buckets, CF Hood, CF Trunklid, CF Sunroof, Lightweight rims, Sound deadener + AC + PS + Cruise + Spoiler removed, Lightweight flywheel + pulleys

Add it all up, and document it. Thats the only true accurate way you would know.

you wanna save weight ? try taking that massive amount of stereo equipment out of your trunk. Or maybe, take that dragon decal off your hood. Gut the interior?

If you want to save weight ditch the sound equipment.

Just leave the car as it is. If you want a light car, you should not have bought a Prelude.

Gutting cars only ruins them....especially if all you do is drive it on the streets.

Take a bunch of ex-lax and a really big dump. Don't eat for a few weeks and drive naked. Make sure there is no change in the coin box..... drive with 1/8 of a tank of gas, 1/2 oil & tranny fluid, pump your tires with helium and breathe through your nose so it acts as 2 small jets. Make sure there are no rocks caught in your tire treds & relace all of your fluid caps with rags.

Make sure you only have your lude key on your key chain, remove the vtec sticker & Honda "H" badges & don't touch up any rock chips...... remove the centre caps on your rims & your valve stem caps.

Ok seriously you could get your car down to like high 2600-2700ish lbs by just stripping out the back seats tools, all the lining and crusining around on 1/8th of the tank filled up. Also getting rid of heavy stock parts with alot lighter counter parts. Exhaust and cat(stock) Together= 50ish lbs(guesstimation as i have never weighed the stock exhaust or cat, but remember it was heavy), with a test pipe and aftermarket exhasut you shave off probably 30lbs, also with a aftermarket header, stock header is also heavy as ****. All this while retaining AC and PS. IF your even more serious you can strip out both the AC and PS with all the lines. With some light weight rims and tires you could probably take off a better amount of weight. Also the sound deadening is a nice amount of weight. Stripping that out along with the lining behind the dash protecting the sound from the firewall is a good amount of weight. By this point im sure you'd be around the 2500s.

Your not going to achieve anything substantial if you just go half-assed on weight reduction. Just reducing a 100lbs or so is not going to do a whole lot. I guess my point is that if you're not serious and ready to spend some cash on wheels, CF stuff, and sacrificing lots of comfort features, don't mess with it...

Actually my stereo equipment is currently all removed (except deck) I am reinstalling it (minus 1 sub) in a more removeable manner. So that I can just unplug and go to the track.

And I am totally serious and am going to do everything to reduce weight that I can while keeping the car comfortable for me and my family. I am just wondering what other people have done and what kind of results they have seen.

Thank you all

100 lbs is a LOT of weight...

at least when you're turning.

Yea, i heard from a frined that its better to keep the battery in the middle of the car instead of the back where most people relocate their batteries. Is this true seeing how your a avid auto x'r/ road racer im guessing. Is there any fact in this statement? He said to keep it neutral.
