Default radio code?

does anyone know how would i get the radio code for my cd player for my prelude? If i go to the dealer what would i need to bring with me? I just bought the car and the title and registration is not under my name yet. I have to wait until Tues. for the DMV to open to register the car. Can i just bring the title with me to the dealer to get the code?

You need the VIN number and, if its anything like my brothers Acura, the serial number off the back of the CD player.

I don't think the title matters.

I've heard of some where, if you hold the "1" and "6" button when starting it up, it displays the code. But I don't think its the same in ludes. You can try it, though.

Perhaps theres someone out there that can give more definate info?

Call the dealership where the car was originally purchased from. Tell them to transfer you to the service department and tell them you need a radio code. Give him the VIN number and he should be able to give you the code. If not, pull the radio and get the serial number then call them back which takes all of about 5 minutes.

just call or go up to the stealership and they should give you the code for FREE...Some people say you have to pay, but I never have

There should be a referance number also you need from the head unit

Check your onwers man, a buddy that works at a stealership writes all the codes in all the cars mans he works on so when something happens he can just tell them where the sode is.

GOOD Luck

PM me with the serial number and some kind of proof you own the car and I can take care of it.

hey i had the same problem in my 5th generation lude......hers what u do the code is on a sticker under the coin collector, but b4 u enter the code u have to disconnect the battery for like 3-5 minutes b/c error3 means you are locked out of the radio b/c u have tried too many times, after u disconnect then reconnect the battery enter the code adn it should work, but if u dont find the code under ur coin collector try the 5 digit code u got from the glove compartment,,,, remember u only get like 3 trys!

thanks, i will try that tommorrow morning. Also i found out the 5 digit code is the right one thanks a fellow honda-tech member. One last question, im not good with electronics so im kinda scare to disconnect the battery since i've never done that b4. Im only good with body work and stuff like. How do u actaully disconnect the battery? i don't want to screw up and accidently electricuting myself....lol

I was actually flipping through my manual yesterday and I happened to find my code on the page about the radio.

Anyway, nm, just saw you got it figured out lol.
