code for factory stereo?
is the stereo you have the one that came stock on your car? if so it may be on a sticker on the bottom of your ashtray, if not the dealership can give it to you, although, they may be a little hesitant to give you the code, bc they might think its stolen
All you need to do is remove the cd player and retreive the id number taped on the back of the cd player... With that number and the vin number of your car, any acura dealer will give you the code free of charge...
ok i just posted this response, but for some reason its not showing up, so if it does, i dont have memory problems lol
ok, if the stereo you have came with your car stock then the sticker may be on the bottom of your ashtray, if its not the stock player from your car, then you will have to go to the dealership to get the code, although they might be hesitant to give it to you due to people that steal them then come in to get the codes

And registration, and a valid drivers license. And trust me, its not gonna be free. NOTHING a dealership ever does is free if they have anything to say about it. My buddy's gsr started asking for the code, so he took it to the dealership and it cost him $100.

I just did this with my '01 GSR. I called my local dealership and they were of no help and told me to contact the dealership that it was originally sold from new. I did that and they asked me for a number on the cd player its self and my vin. Then they gave me the code. Took all of about 5 min. Totally free. I am not completely sure if they were able to help me because they originally sold it or just because they were more competent. I was helped by Superior Acura in KS. Their # is 1-800-875-2287 . If your local dealer can't help you maybe they can, or at least tell you where it was sold new. JFoster
either in your ashtray or in the glove box there should be a sticker with two #'s on it. you want the one that has 5 digits. if you dont have this then look on the back of the cd player and call your local acura dealer with the serial # of the cd player.
look in your owners manual and there should be a little like business card that says acura on it and somewhere on the card there is a number, cuz i had to do it, ill look on mine tonight and maybe it will work for you car i have a 95 ls

That's the only place it was from the factory.
The codes written under the ashtray, in the fuseboxes, or wherever; were marked by the dealer, NOT the factory. Not all dealers did this, not always in the same place...

your buddy got reamed with no lube.
I have never been charged, and I used to get the code maybe once every 6 months. I would drive in, and they would be like "you need your code again don't you?"; "yes ma'am" she would then look it up on her sheet of paper, and if she wasn't too busy she would go out into the drive and do it for me, or just give me the number. I always lost that sheet of paper... which is probably why I had to go and get that number so often...

If I am not mistaken, the code is 5-digits. In my experience, when I had this problem. . . I drove to the dealer to obtain the code. Things may have changed but there is a sticker placed on the side panel of the glove box as soon as you open it.
On that sticker is a bar-code and a series of numbers. I am willing to bet the service dealer has to enter that code into a computer to retrieve your 5-digit code for the stock radio.
If you do go to the dealer, have them write it on the anti-theft radio card like they gave me and have it mailed to your address.
