quick ? about ATTS
Don't mind Lewd Lude...you know how those Aussies are
.
Anywhoo, ATTS stands for Active Torque Transfer System. In essence, when you go through a turn, the outer wheel increases torque to compensate for the inside wheel, giving the car a more neutral balance. It's not something you can hear, but for SH owners like myself, you can feel the outer wheel on turns, especially at high speeds. If applied correctly, you can carve corners with ease
.
ATTS tends to deactivate if there's too much power to the wheels...I think 250 hp (at the crank) is the max. So, turbos might not go well with the SH, though some people have them on their Preludes anyway. That's why I like the Jackson Racing Supercharger

ATTS kicks ***. If you drive a Prelude SH and drive it HARD, you WILL feel it kick in. It's hard to describe but it feels like the car is being "pulled" around the turn. You have to learn how to drive with it. It actually drives better if you drive hard through a turn, and if it gets close to the edge/limit, and you lift off the gas, ATTS is no longer working so it gets worse.. usually better to just hold the throttle constant and ride it out.

The beauty of ATTS is that if you get into a turn to hot and you let off the throttle the car oversteers, you get into a turn to hot and you stay on it, the car oversteers. Atleast you know what the cars is gunna do!
I love ATTS now that I am used to it. There is no denying that the car handles WAY better with ATTS than without. It truely gives the prelude the best of both worlds, sometimes it acts like a front wheel drive other times it acts like a rear.
AttS will also activate when the car is decelerating, ie you let off the throttle in a turn and it will slow down the inside front tire causing the car to rotate around that tire, do this wrong and you wil find the car pointing the wrong way as I did last time I went autocrossing.
