Default Questions about the greddy e-manage on a Type SH

Hey guys

Im considering going to with an e-manage over a vafc, but i have a few questions.

1. Will the e-manage wipe out my ATTS?
2. Since my car is OBD2, will i be able to tune for partial throttle as well as Full throttle?
(as opposed to vafc only tuning WOT on obd2 cars)
3. To be more general, is it a good unit? Does it preform well?
4. Ive heard you cant re-adjust the vtec engagement point, is this true?

I think thats about it guys, thanks for any help you can give me.

I will not wipe out your atts and for what you have and if you want little more tuning abilities the emanage is good.. I am running one and my car is SS auto tranny and thats why i chose to go with for my supercharger..

you'll keep your ATTS
you can't tune partial throttle
it is a good unit, people have been getting decent results
you can fully adjust VTEC engagement

and you can roughly tune ignition timing.

Not being able to tune part throttle has nothing to do with your ECU being OBDII. OBDI also has Short Term Fuel Trim and Long Term Fuel Trim, you would run into the same troubles.

You wouldn't want to mess with part throttle closed loop anyway, the stock ECU does an excellent job of taking care of that..

Okay, with that said, will none of my tuning affect any throttle below 100% (WOT)? Am i understanding you correctly?

Thanks for all of your help.

E-manage is a glorified V-AFC if you're trying to tune it for a mild N/A build. Basically its a V-AFC + guesstimation on timing if you get that harness. Overall I wouldn't recommend it for a mild build, if you're going to do cams and build the engine it becomes more worthwhile.

Well, let me add to what I said. It's not that you cannot tune part throttle, it's that you cannot make changes in areas where the ECU runs in closed loop. My understanding is that the ECU goes into open loop fueling at about 35% throttle.

I'm deciding between this and a vafc because im going to be purchasing a Rage header soon, and from what ive heard, it leans out your car a fair amount.

Anyone else care to reply?
Thanks in advance guys

I HIGHLY doubt that the header by itself leans out your fuel system more than the stock ECU can compensate for. If that's what you're worried about, don't bother with it. But the E-manage is actually good for adding fuel, just crap (V-AFC equiv) in taking it away.
