oxygen sensor?

Default oxygen sensor?

would a faulty oxygen sensor cause my car to idle really rough? i'm pretty sure my oxygen sensor is done cause my check engine light is on and it gave me code 2... but when my car idles low it smells of gas and emissions i think... what do you guys thing? O2 sensor?

Oh ya btw, i have a 92 prelude SR with 193,000KM if that helps

Could be... Is it only doing this hot? or cold also.

Start the car and let it warm up a bit. check if the o2 sensor is putting out a signal. You should see the voltage climb to .6V in 15 Seconds, then on up to .8V in the next 45 seconds.

remember, the o2 sensor does not kick in unless the sensor reaches 600 degrees

I am throwing a code... its code #1 meaning the oxygen sensor... i'm pretty sure it has to be changed but im wondering if this could be causing my idling problems...

i had this problem about 4 months ago it would shut off and wouldnt turn on until it coold down change the o2 sensor with a bosh they sucked so i bought one from the dealer 100$ havent hade a problem since.

Wait a sec here. It is not because a person had a problem similar to yours and fixed it that your problem is the same. Test the o2 sensor like i indicated...

Getting an o2 code is a start but it does not automatically indicate that the sensor is bad. Test it first....

im not saying that changing the sensor will fix it for shure , but that is exactly what was happening to me and now its fixed..thats just my 2 cents. hope it helps

Man this is quite simple here. Your cel is lit up. You get code 2... your idle is rough... What other suggestion do you think you will get.

This is not rocket science. You need to test the circuit and the o2 sensor to fix it.

What else are you looking for dude????

thing is im also running a code 43... something to do with the fuel... thats why... could they both be related?

I say it is. Please check the voltage going to the o2 sensor and check the voltage coming out of the sensor as explained earlier. Unless you have a friend with a compatible o2 sensor to swap for a while.
