This is confusing. Everyone contridicts everyone.
I ask becuase I am buying some darton sleeves on groupbuy****** and when you go to check out it asks you a couple questions and one of them is open or closed deck. Also it gives the choice between long and short sleeves. Which one am I supposed to pick.

H22a1 = closed deck
H22a4 = open deck

I believe this is the same for USDM and JDM spec.

anything from 91-95 is closed deck Jap spec or USdm

anything from 96-00 is open deck jap or usdm.

also the japspec heads has dual springs on the intake side unlike the usdm. which is only single spring.

JDM engines are typically just H22A, but i oudl think that they would be the same as the USDM, 92-96 are closed, and 97-01 is open

The jdm and usdm 92-95 h22a are closed deck and 96-up are open. I have a 95 h22a and it's closed deck. The only thing i think people are not too sure about is if the 96 is open or closed.

I think all JDM H22's are closed deck. But I may be wrong.
