Default Oil Filter ? for H22A Swap

I have a 97 civic hatchback with a h22a swap. I just bought the car and I want to do an oil change. I bought the honda oil filter today but it looks smaller than the bosch one that the previous owner had. This is the one I got 15400-PLM-A02, does anyone know the correct one Im suppose to use? Thanks.

smaller but better than fram etc, or if you want the size, get the s2k one, it fits too.

I prefer Wix filters. The stock Honda size (old size, i.e. "large" Honda - like the current S2k filter) is 51334. There is an oversized filter that has all the same specs, but with a larger case and more filter media. It's Wix PN 51344.

15400-PLM-A02, that filter will fit most hondas, and will fit your h22

Honda has replaced the larger filter with the smaller size. The smaller filter was originally made by Filtech (good) but later switched to Honeywell (not as good). You might be able to find the good Filtech filters from certain Honda dealers, but chances are they are mostly Honeywell by now.

the honda oil filter is specifically made for that motor....aftermarket such as fram and others have that same exact design for every car just different sizes....

Are you telling me that Honda has a different oil filter for every engine that it produces?

Fram is a part of Honeywell, so essentially the new Honda filters are Fram filters.

honda filters are made by fram.

I use hamp filters. I know its trendy but they are good filters. $70 for 10 of them.

It is good if you want to run more oil than with the standard oil filter.

the s2k filter is actually a lot better than the other honda filters. so it filters out more crap and doesnt break down like crap *** fram filters. (i had a fram filter fall apart on me)

Id sugest a new fit oil filter though if your after a little bit in pressure bump.I got a 8psi gain just thought it was an option for those of you interested in this kind of stuff, although maybe on the next change ill try the s2k.Those of you using s2k filters how much pressure change did you notice.
