Default No Vtec No codes

Is it possible for your vtec not to engage and yet not a code/check light? If so what are some of the conditions? Assume turbo motor, good ecu and working check light.

I have always been wondering, how would I get to the solenoid and the screen to clean it out?

to answer your question, yes, vtec can not engauge and not set a code. there are certian requirements for vtec to engauge, if one is not met that does not mean the car has a huge problem, it just might mean theres low oil , cars not warm enough , not enough throttle position measured, etc,

you also want to check the wire connection to the solenoid, I know mine has fallen out a time or 2, always seems to be when I race someone too....
