Sorry, my last post came out wrong...The guys claim they did nothing for the fuel side of things, which i still don't believe; they say they didn't pull the vacuum line. I'm gonna be running a wet setup, but when using a dry setup and just pulling the vacuum line, how big a shot can you go, and when you reach that limit, how do you get the fuel in w/ it still being a dry set?

A normal dry kit(ie.NOS, ZEX, etc) has a vacuum line running to the fpr. You shouldn't run nitrous without some sort of fuel enrichment. In all honesty I don't know how much nitrous you can run when you only pull the vacuum line from the fpr. The reason that I don't know is because you shouldn't do it. Pulling that line is giong to cause you to run rich off of the line and you will bog.
GOTNOS, the 75 shot on the H23 will be fine. It's going to depend on how well you built the H23VTEC as to how much the motor will hold. I'd start with a 75 shot and see how that runs before you go to a 100 shot.

Alright, these three Dumb@$$'s are insisting that there is indeed a dry nitrous setup being sold that does not add fuel in any way. They say it has 50-70 shot pills, and one guy ran it on his 90 civic si for over a year. has anyone seen this "phantom nitrous setup"? And aside from retarding timing when detonation occurs, do the ecu's help control a/f in any other way that would let a setup like this work?

Here's the thread again:

The Sneeky Pete kit sprays just nitrous and you can put any jets in if that you wish. I've never heard of a Honda ECU that adds fuel when knock occurs, but I'm no electronics genius. Like you I thought that it just retarded the timing. Here's the kicker though. If they are right and the ECU does add fuel when a lean condition arises, then you have to actually run lean and knock before the ECU compensates for it. Ask the Z26 guy for the part number of this phantom kit.
Edit: Z26 boy is talking about the sneeky pete kit. It doesn't add any fuel. NOS does sell a dry kit that compensates with additional fuel via a vacuum line to the fpr. I think the part# is 05123.

yeah, i knew the sneaky pete sprayed just nitrous, but I didn't think they would throw in 50-70 shot jets w/ it! They must have a nice disclaimer or something when you buy. the BTLFED guy's actin like OBDII is a freakin safeguard or somethin, when it won't save you from a very lean condition. Let me see what that part is on summit....it just sucks having the only 3 guys in the thread all rapin ya, i wish some of the other local guys would jump in and share some knowledge! Next thing i know i'm gonna see someone on the side of the road w/ a blown motor after reading that thread

OK First off you nitrous rookies I have been spraying my JDM h22a for over a year with a zex kit. As far as the fuel set up I have stock evenything. I was runing a 55shot at first at stock timing and its fine. Now I run the 75 shot 2degree retard from stock timing and 100 octane and have been running that set up for over 4 months now been threw well over 7 bottles with the 75 shot alone!

What a DUMB@$$ ! ! ! The Zex kit DOES mess with the fuel; what the heck do you think that little purple box does?! A dry kit has a regulator that ups the fuel pressure when you are spraying (in case you can't read previous posts), so the rest of the fuel system is stock.

Cool, thanks; i nearly got the vaseline whipped out on me. It's interesting to read that the two cars did have the vacuum line pulled...what does that guy drive? I may have seen him around.

Nitrous rookie? You're calling me a rookie when you are running that gay pride Barney Box? You've got to be ******* kidding me.

Does that look like a rookie nitrous setup to you?
Fastlude, did you ever dyno those setups?

I'm in WI right now and I am moving to AR, not AZ. I'd be more than happy to run you. I'll give you a PM the next time I come through MD. Fair enough?
Edit: It may look sloppy but it gets the job done.

the two cars that i ran the setup on had the line pulled, the ones he did, didnt, he didnt know what pulling the line would do so he left it alone, i thought of that, as a band-aid till i got a regulator.

edit: no never got it dynoed, wish i did. i know i had bottle prssure though, i used to heat it w/a blow torch to 1200 psi. the 50 shot took almpost a sec of the 1/4 mile time though.

Oh really? So there's a problem w/ seein what other people think about something before starting a huge thread like that? Wow, STFU and get back on your site, ya *****. The only real thing I learned about nitrous from all of this is that a honda motor will last a little bit longer than I thought when running lean on the bottle. I was looking to see if anyone had any experience w/ running a setup like that, and I found the owner of the lude that you said ran w/o fuel mods! Wow, too bad he and the teg HAD THE FPR LINE PULLED! Our thread on importsouth is through, so quit tryin to start stuff over here.

just one thing, both mine and the teg were eun w/and w/out the line. just after i got a fuel psi gage and saw what pulling the line did, is when i ran it like that all the time.
