Default muffler issues..

is there anyway of taking this yellowish color off the muffler. I have a APEXi WS catback. Its starting to turn a yellowish. Im guessing its tarnishing, but i dont know. Will some polish or cleaner take this off?

I wanted to see if any of you guys have had this problem with your guys' stainless steel exhausts?

thanks guys

any input would be helpful

I believe you're running rich. I'm pretty sure that when you run rich, stainless turns yellowish. Running lean turns it a bluish color.

My stainless header and the part of my stainless exhaust nearest the engine turned yellow and then blue. The hottest part is now blue which fades to yellow further along the exhaust. I've had the same thing on motorcycles.

There is a product called "blue away" that's been around for years . Eastwood sells it. It should work on the yellow as well. I've not heard that stainless turns yellow/blue with rich/lean but this stuff should help either way.

There are a number of "wadded" cleaners out there that you can try. I use Eagle I and it does help with polishing the stainless on the Thermal muffler. Great for the tips too-does not scratch at all.
