Only does it at idle sometimes or I only notice it at idle. I did plugs and wires on it but nothing changed. Compression is 190 in all four. The miss cylinder 1. Wondering if anyone here has came across something like this? I'm not sure if the valve adjustment has been done on it but I doubt that would be the cause

 

Think sea foam will help? top engine cleaner?

 

check the valve adjustment. if its outta spec it can make a difference.

 

im guessing that is my best choice right now.. just weird that it only happens sometimes and only at idle (from what i can tell)

 

Check your egr. Probably need to clean out your egr and clean the ports out on your intake manifold. My 97 base had the same problem until I cleaned those out.

i found a place that had 12 in stock.. i got home a i cant find my slide hammer so looks like i will be doing all this tomorrow

 

think this ports are carbon up enough to cause a misfire??

Yeah for sure. Mine looked like that also. Cleaned really thoroughly until they were nice and shiny. How is the lude running now? Hope my 2 cents helped.

 

i got it finished right after work today (much easier to do in day light) i drove it about 20 miles today and it felt like it always has..really good but i did feel it misfire once at a stop light but no CEL yet.

i also found out that my state will let me go through inspection with 2 monitors not set/ready.. so at least i can actually get real tags for it now..

 

Sometimes ... I love living in ND, we don't have those **** checks.
