Misfire Problem
I've been having a problem with a misfire on all cylinders that i can't seem to get rid of. I've replaced the plugs, wires, coil, and cap with no luck at all. I've done a compression check and got good numbers. 4-200 3-200 2-195 1-201 Does anybody have any suggestions on what this might be? I know i should replace the dizzy but i don't really have $200 to spend on something that -might- fix the problem. Before i do that i want to make sure i've covered all the little crap first. Also i looked at my plugs when i pulled them out today and they have a brownish tint to them. is that normal? Cyl #4's plug even has a slight orangish yellow tint to it. something just doesn't seem right about this but i'm not sure what is good and bad as far as colors of plugs go.
Thats normal wear for plugs you should replace em soon. sounds like timing if you have an aftermarket ignition controll (msd, aem, hks,ect...) make sure the wiring is good and that the unit functions properly. if your ignition is still stock there is an ignition module in the distributor with four leads on it, located just underneath the rotor and cover there's a chance it could be going bad. symptoms include harder starts hot or cold, poor performance, bad milage, stumbling on acceleration and misfires eventually your car just won't start untill replaced If thats what the problem is. do ignitor input test (i'd show you a picture from the book but i can't post any yet) if good, trouble shoot fuel system, injectors, fuel press. and so on.

Here's a list of things to look into
Ignition System
Fuel Supply System
EGR System
IAC Valve
Contaminated Fuel
Lack of Fuel
Valve Clearance
Fuel Injector Circuit
Low Compression

I saw that you changed the plugs, wires, cap, and coil but what about the rotor? When I was getting a misfire on all four cylinders on my lude I changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, and I havn't gotten the cel again. When I took the rotor out it was pretty worn so I think that was what was causing the misfires. And depending on where you go, a rotor shouldn't cost more than $10.00 and if it does, go somewhere else. Hopefully this helps.
