Default Misaligned shifter

Ive had my 5speed manual sway for about 3 weeks already. Everything had been acting normal untilll last night. When I tried to take off I noticed the revs went down really fast and it wouldnt get very well. I finally figured out I was launching in third eventhough it felt as if I was in first. Now neutral feels like its between 1st and 2nd instead of the middle. SO when Im in what should be first Im in third and there seems to be alot of side to side play. It really hard to push the shifter all the way to the right where 5th/reverse should be. Sometimes I can fiddle with it with the clutch in and it seems like Its good again, it will go through all 5 gears again but when I get back to neutral it seems to re misalign itself. Any ideas fellas?

Default Re: Misaligned shifter (KaoSyN)

Well I figured it out, might aswell post what incase anybody else has a similar problem.

Basically one of the shift cable linkages came loose. Theres a bracket that holds them right before they go into the tranny. The metal piece on the cable that fits into the bracket is a bit too small so theres a metal clip that keeps it from going through. Somehow that part on mine musta came off. Giving me the crooked shifter, extra play, and no first gear.

Im just so happy it aint my tranny
