there are no specific numbers for a cold engine, they could range very widely. that is why you are supposed to do it on a warm engine.

you could run a comp. test on a cold engine and get numbers that will point you in the right direction, however they wont be totaly accurate.

Hopefully less than 10%.

Do it on an engine that's at operating temp.

No, you asked cold. I said hopefully less than 10%.

Why is it that you have trouble understanding even the simplest of responses to your questions?

On an engine at operating temp, below 5% is good for a production car with quite a few miles. My track car leaks around 1% to 2% warm, and I've seen S2000s that leak less than 1%.

specify. Things are always so cut and dry. Everyone looks at everything a different way. I dont see why you get so angry about giving information. Its not difficult and im sure my asking may clear it up for someone else. I like to approach things knowing as much as possible about it if possible.

I think it's more a function of the fact that you don't have any idea what you're doing most of the time, but that's just my opinion.

You should just be happy I'm attempting to help you.

you asked for cold data and he gave it to you. It's cut and dry when you dont do things how they are supposed to be done.

is this the motor that you have rebuilt or what? I'd expect to see a fresh and properly broken in motor with 2-4% leak.
