knock sensor & ATTS problem
I have a 5th gen type SH and I get a knock sensor code and the CEL stays on..
- I checked the harness and loose parts didnt see anything obvious.
1.) where can I get a knock sensor- is there an aftermarket or is it dealer only?
alsocouple days before the ATTS light came on.. I was pulling out of a gas station and got on it a little it bogged out at VTEC -
< edit DELETE /H> and the ATTS light came on..
Brought it to the dealer and the goofy tech said the knock sensor was the reason the ATTS light was on and it was 650 to replace the knock sensor
2.) any suggestions on the ATTS?
Thanks,
Chris

first off man, its VTEC. say it with me V T E C when you pop the hood what does it say on the valve cover? VTEC. how about that sticker on the back of the car? VTEC.
2nd, the knock sensor is located under the intake manifold, so how you checked it without removing the manifold is beyond me. Buy the knock sensor from the dealer. Just go through the parts department and replace it urself, or if you are mechanically challenged, pay the dealer the 600 dollars to do it.
with any CEL on a type SH, it will trip the ATTS light. Doesnt mean anything is wrong with the ATTS, its just a safty precaution so you dont kill anything. Replace knock sensor, reset ECU, problem solved.
oh and again, VTEC!
