Default ---Knock sensor---

Couple of questions.

How hard is it to install the k.s from under the car?

What tool do I use because of the tight area that it's in?

Also, is it ok to drive it with it disconnected?

The reason I'm asking, is because my dumb *** mechanic, broke it during a previous head job. And he's giving me the run around about getting the part.

Thanks,
-Shadow-

1) Easy as pie, it's right above the oil filter

2) I used my hand to hand tighten it then an adjustable to tighten a smidge more

3) You'll throw a code but should run ok I don't believe it threw mine in limp mode

That's on an H22A however with a JDM P13 I'd assume it's similar in an H23

Thanks so much for the reply man.

I'm still not sure if the one he broke was working at all.

The ecu didn't detect any knock what so ever to set off the cel, before I got the head job.

The valve body was tapping loud as hell before I threw the t.belt.

Would I notice lack of power, hence timing, and have shitty gas mileage?

That I def. do.

Thanks again ....

i dont believe the cel comes on because of knock, it comes on because of a malfunction in the circuit. the knock sensor is used to auto retard timing in the case of knock to save you a block =D

I have the same problem i jus need to find another sensor because the one i got here on honda-tech is broken, well i am guessing. i have to get another one and test the circuit

Code 23 = knock sensor, mine was busted replaced it with OEM one and it's good as gold now. But I disabled it now haha.

You *might* I don't want to comment on stuff I don't really know. I don't believe however that I experienced any real power loss with the CEL 23 just it came on after driving around. I know mostly Accord stuff and am just getting started in the H22 arena.

CEL code #23 knock sensor came on recently on my JDM ITR swapped '95 LS. I can still hit VTEC but the car definitely runs on limp mode while the light is on. I'm going to replace the knock sensor and see if that cures this damn problem.
