Default JDM and USDM engine difference.

I have a H22A1 in my 93 Lude Sr-V.

Now, I have a friend with a 94 Lude Type-S, he has an H22A transplant.

What I am asking, is what I should do to make my engine act like the JDM one, since it makes more power. I know the cams in the JDM one are more aggressive, and I have some lined up. Is the compression different? What about the pistons? Does the valve train (springs, valves, retainers) matter?

Thanks.

I don't wanna lose at the 1/4 mile.

The Type-S motor has higher compression. I think different cams and valve spings, dunno what else

Sorry, should of specified. He took out his stock F22 engine, and transplanted the JDM H22A out of a 1996 Prelude Si-R.

He claims to be able to beat mine...and since it makes I beleive 7 more horses, he should be able to in the lighter model, now, I wanna be able to show him up, show him that he doesn't need to be such a cocky guy with his car, cause a barely over stock USDM can beat him.

Yeah, i believe the USDM motor has a 10:1 compression and the JDM motor has 10.6:1 compression. As far as the valvetrain goes - no idea.
