increasing displacement on H22/H23?
Hi folks,
Im picking up a sweet 92 Si tomorrow, with only 100k miles on it. my 3rd prelude in my life { 1st was a 96 S model with auto ughhhh..., 2nd was a black 95 vtec ggodd i miss it,} ive been out of the "import scene" for a while as i was having fun with domestic v8s and trucks for a few years and i dont regret it. one big thing i noticed about muscle cars is people very often bore and stroke the motors to get more displacement, thus increasing torque and horsepower. i dont hear about this type of mod very often with import cars. although to some extent it makes sense, im sure its alot easier to increase displacement on a giant lump of iron like a small block chevy than it is a small aluminum 4 banger possibly with an open deck.
So my question is, is it possible to increase displacement on a H22 or 23? i think it is, i think i remember an article in one of my old import magazines that had an accord with a 2.6 H22.
so if it is possible,
how big can you go?
what kind of limitations does it have {ie like can it handle boost?}
does anyone have any personal experience with this?
it seems like a good idea to me, i mean after all it would help in the one area where a small engine really lacks which is low end torque.
Thanks for the help guys
