Default H22 and H23...does the .1 liter actually affect anything that much

my engine's getting ready to die, so im looking for replacements. ive got a 96 Accord LX, so its not vtec. i want to stay N/A. im thinking about the two engines mentioned above. i know the H22 will have more pwer to begin with, but if a go with the H23, i dont need to worry about switching to vtec. im looking to get 200 hp at the wheels. as far as torgue goes, which will be better for an N/A build?

I've never seen anyone build an N/A H23 motor. It doesn't really like to rev as high.

The H22 is a different story. All motor, boost...it can do it all.

It's your money, get what you can afford. But my vote is for the H22.

depending on money
i have a 96lx with a h22 and its bad to the bone. i love it.. the h23 would of been cheaper and you ll have almost close to 35-40 hp gain. but going from 125 to 190 with an h22.. oh my

Compression, displacement, rod and stoke. Liters don't matter - when science and tech is involved. H23A vs. B16A - same hp. Well, tq is different, but u get my point.

i am bulding a 23 vtec right now for my 96 bb2. a frind had most of the bottom and a h22a1 head, so why not put them togeather. it has been a lot of work i think it is going to be worth it

The shorter strock for an h22 is way more suited to the higher rpm ranges of vtec. The h23vtec works but isnt worth it.
