Recently when ever i got to start my car and i turn the key, nothing happens. The engine makes no noise or anything. Then all the sudden the car will fire up normally. The car has no problem starting such as the starter not turning or not firing up right away. It just seems to get no current for a split second. So i believe my ignition switch of the key is bad. Wasnt there a recall on the ignition switch not to long ago? Has anyone had any problems like this?

 

I had the same problem and just replaced the assembly connected to the back of the key cylinder.. no problems whatsoever.. mine is a 1994 H23AVTEC... When I went to the dealer they said " it happens all the time that's why we keep em in stock"..... Be careful if you do this yourself.. the airbag wiring is right next to the ignition swtich assembly.

Take it back to the dealership. There was a recall on the ignition switches

 

Would they still honor it even thou the car is modded? I dont think why they wouldnt since none of the mods have to do with ignition.

 

Did you get the recall on the ignition?

 

They should still fix it even though you have mods....
