everytime i start my h22a4 it starts and shuts off right away. never had this problem before and i did not put any mods on the engine. would this be because of a malfunctioning 'Starting Air Valve' ... now i have to start it and step on the gas peddle so the car doesnt turn off. after the car was running for 3 seconds it goes back down to normal idle rpms. need help because im planning a trip in 2 days and dont want these problems on the road

 

I don't think it would be the 'Starting Air Valve' causing your problems, as the JDM Ludes don't even have that valve fitted (they just have a blanking plate). I removed & blanked off the valve on a 2.3L Lude I have, and it made no noticeable difference to the starting.

Try cleaning out some of the valves on your intake manifold (IACV, FITV etc) and check the tension on your throttle cable. You could also try adding a fuel injector cleaner to a tank of petrol maybe.

 

Check your grounds. Tranny ground, head ground, and thermo ground.

Last weekend I had the thermo ground bolt back itself completely off. The car would start, run till it rattle to be not touching, and shut off...

 

dont discount simple stuff like main relay or faulty dizzy - coil(?)

Check your ignition switch.
