Default Idle problem. Help PLEASE.

I have a BB6 Honda Prelude base MTX w/ AEM CAI. I was running a 300ZX on the freeway in the early hours of the morning awhile back. I was running up to the top of 3rd @ 90mph and when I was about to upshift into 4th, I missed it and hit 2nd. Popped the clutch out and realized what gear I was in when I heard a pop and saw the rpm's @ 11,000! It hit for about a second then I immediately dropped in the clutch and babied her home. It didnt seem to have any problems until I got to a stop light and pushed in the clutch and let her fall to idle. It started to sputter down to 600rpm and then died. The next morning I thought it could of been a vaccum leak, but all the hoses checked ok. I checked the plugs and they had carbon build up on them & so did the pistons. It likes to die when its cold for some reason. When I first crank her up, it idles like normal during cold-startup but when I get in and start driving she'll die when not in gear and on the gas. She doesnt burn oil, doesnt run hot or use up coolant, has full power under acceleration. I havent had the chance to run a comp. test but she runs like normal. I tried to adjust the valves but couldnt get to them, and the valves make a loud ticking sound. Could it be the valves being out of adjustment? Bent valve? Whatever, any suggestions, comments, advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanx.

PS. When that happened, the tranny started acting up too. It takes more effort to get her in gear now. Checked the tranny when I was changing the oil and there is tranny fluid leaking from between the tranny and the block. I cant find the leak but what could of possibly make it leak from the incident that happened up above? Thanx again.

I don't know about your idle, but I have trouble getting mine into gear, and its the clutch. Probably your problem.

It won't idle because you bent some, if not all, of your valves when you overreved your motor.
