idel problem
I have a 92 si 4ws. i have replaced my stock intake w/ a aem cold intake. not long after my car started idling up and down between 1000 and 2500 rpms. it goes up and then drops right away with in about a second. i need some help. :thumbup
1. Make sure all vacuum hoses are properly connected and not cracked or leaking.
2. Make sure there is no air trapped in your cooling system. This can be remedied by removing your radiator cap and allowing the radiator to sit open for about 10 minutes, allowing any trapped ait to rise out.
3. Make sure your IACV screen is not clogged.

OK i cleaned the IACV screen and i checked all the lines i also let the radiator sit but it still revs up and down the only thing that worked was a MAP sensor behinded the manifold but if you disconnect it the check engine light appear
does that mean i need a new sensor or is it something else

it is not likely that map sensor went out 'cause you replace the CAI... have you seen this pix under the hood

i bet you disconnected hose #8

what am i supposed to do with the intake control diaphragm #8 and all of the hoses. there is nothing to do with it so i took the intake control diaphragm out and put the hose down near the filter
what should i have done there was nowhere to put it

the hose, i was referring to, is the one coming directly from the IM... so while you had the car idle you pinch all the IM vacuum ports? and none of them stop the bouncing idle?
if the answer is yes, then take off the CAI, look at the opening of the throttle body, toward the bottom left you will notice a small hole. let your car warm up to normal operating temp. then put your finger to cover the hole, if the idle is back to normal, then you have a faulty cold-start valve.
see if that helps and let me know what happens.
