Default IAV testing question

i saw a writeup on curing the infamous idle problem. i was testing it last night and when the car is on, the hole in the throttle body leading to the idle air valve has a "sucking" power. Is the idle air valve supposed to be sucking in air when the car is warmed up? thanks for the help.

Default Re: IAV testing question (fe519)

yes it will always suck as long as the car is at idle. basically air is bypassed to the idle air control valve which controls the air for perfect idle, and cold starts. when the car is moving or normal driving conditions it's not really in effect until you come to a stop and are at idle again.
