Hyper Voltage System??
Have a look here please: http://www.optauto.com/webstor...=3682

What do you guys think about it? Is it more like a gimmick or does it really do anything??
Thanx in advance!

I have not heard of anyone running those. I am sure they work, but you are not going to tell a difference in power... just engine response which is what upgraded ground wires are for. Save your money.
But at the second shop I mentioned the Hyper Voltage System is as expensive/ cheap as a good set of ground wires while it is not as hard to install. An my ground wires still seem to be in well conditions.
Maybe it is not really difficult but it is still about the same price as new ground wires and like I said mine are still fine.
So you think it is a waste of money?

In my opinion, yes. Wait for some other guys to answer this as well, they may know something that i dont.
If you want, I can make you an earth grounding system for 35 bucks if you are that worried about voltage and response.

Thank you very much for your offer but like I said my stock system is still fine!
Another question: The description of this system on http://www.optauto.com says "...Brighter headlights/less dimming..." and we all know that pulleys can cause the headlights to dim....so my question is, is it possible that this system can compensate this negative effect??? The problem here in germany is that our "TÜV" (Technical Control Office??) is really strict when it is about modifying cars and our headlights have to work properly in EVERY situation!!!

Nothing more than a fancy Capacitor. My only question is on their claim your voltage drops under acceleration. It shouldn't. It *SHOULD* go up, as the alternator will be spinning faster and is able to put out more amps at approx 14.4 volts. So that claim of theirs to me is total bullcrap and should be ignored completely. Otherwise, as for the stabalizing, it's nothing more than a stiffning capactor.

My take on the grounding systems is the main part where people get confused, the gaining HP aspect. (this is what this thread is more or less about right?)
Where you will notice most of your gains are in the fact that the better grounding locations are now allowing the various sensors (input/output) to see or relay the correct voltages which the engine was designed to run with, without interference from degrading ground locations. You're not really gaining HP, but getting back HP that is being lost due to the ECU receiving improper information.
In my opinion, it's just another product that a company can sell to make money which you could EASILY make yourself. Do they produce greater power numbers? Yes, slightly, but it totally depends on your specific layout. Create a ground in the wrong location and you can actually lose power.
To know for sure where your system can bebefit can only be found on a dyno.
As for the Hyper Voltage System.....simply hype.

There was a mag write up...i think it was SCC...they actually lost power or had a minimal gain with the 5g ludes. But H22si is right, its more or less putting back the power you have already lost. Get some 0 gauge (ok maybe not that big) and ground it out yourself, but expect some serious dyno time just to get a few lil ponies...if you want that type of gain just rip your P/S and A/C out.
If you're into electronics much, it sounds like they're tryin to do the same thing that you do w/ smaller circuits: place a smallish cap across the leads of the battery.
Total waste of money, imo.
