I was thinkin about gettin that eventually too.... 3-5 horsepower from grounding wires is pretty cool. As far as looks go I'm sure it would look better than the factory wires, the only grounds that are readily visible is the one that goes from the battery and the one that goes from the front of the motor

my friends shop was dynoing a ITR and they used the hyperground and i believed made around 3-4hp throughout the power band.. not a bad mod at all. i'd rather spend $100 and get more hp then a exhaust and have a lot of money left over

Tommy_Gunns in the ITR forum made his own kits and sold them.

if you made your own you wouldnt get any power gain with it. The Hyperground has some technology behind it, there are some articles in some of the newer tuner mags.

"Some technology"...yeah. It's called using a slightly larger gauge wire and higher purity copper for lower resistance. They also shield the wires to reject outside RF noise. I don't know about the necessity of a shield for the ground wire; most of the noise is generated by the components they are grounding. Couldn't hurt though.

In short, I think you'd realize similar benefits with a nice four gauge wire. Just terminate them and heat-shrink them to protect the wire from the elements (something Honda didn't do ).

Not yet. I plan to replace them sometime soon. I'll use either a 4 or 8 AWG stranded wire - it doesn't have to be anything special.

Honda has some **** poor ground wiring. They leave a half inch of copper exposed on each end, so it gets nice and oxidized. The resistance in those wires must be astronomical by now....

what is with some of you guys, you all believe the magazine ****'s are out to make you think you can make 5 more hp. Magazines are freely publicated, they use ADVERTISEMENTS to make money not bribes

in several magazines the hyperground has been shown to make at least 5 hp, ITS NOT FROM HAVING BIGGER WIRES!!!!!!!! electrons can only flow around the outside of the wire so they use a ton of spiraling copper wires wrapped around to create better grounds its something you cant do yourself and thats why it costs 100 bucks for the small engine kit, some applications even gave as much as 13 to 20 hp gains....basically the more you have done to your car the more it will help you out. Dont be a hypocrit until you know whatsup, unless someone has a dyno saying that they used big wires and got the same hp gain than I'm gonna be sceptical of bs do it yourself crap

I know a guy who put the kit on his ITR and had wonderful things to say about it. He said he can actually feel the difference. his username is Keyed ITR. Matt at 1201aeromotiv.com had a couple of kits at his shop last time i checked.

Hype...that's what it's called! They take a perfectly normal product and give it a fancy name and some pretty packaging. Then crank up the price so people will say,"Well, there must be something to it!" "If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit!!" Until someone can provide a better explanation of why the Sun wire is better than an plain-Jane wire (and "They use spiraled wire" doesn't count) I shall remain skeptical of them. So far, Sun has been charmingly vague about what they do differently. That means that they have patent information they do not wish to disclose, or that it's unmitigated horseshit. Until I can have an explanation based on science I'll stick with the latter.

Does the hyper ground set come with instructions to tell you where to connect the wires or do you have to figure out the paths yourself?

3-4 hp, i doubt it. But smoothing out the power and improving throttle response is what i have heard.

ah yes a "dyno graph" is what its called, and I've seen many, the smallest gains were 3 to 5 hp throughout the powerband, the largest were upwards of 20......there's nothing more a company can give you than several different places all giving similar dyno results, unless you expect a personal demonstration at your house. People can be overly skeptical about lagetimate products that perform and I think that f'd up.

Yeah, how dare we try to save our money by not immediately believing every claim these companies make.

So, where can we find these dyno graphs in which you have placed so much faith?

the HyperGroundSystem has been around in Japan for awhile known as "HotEarth". They have a good repuation its not just something that came along overnight. They use 99.99 percent copper with a layer of shielding around the whole thing. The dyno they have on their site actually has lower gains than dyno's shown in import tuner, HCI, etc. More powerful engines like the S2000, Supra, etc had greater increases. So I guess if you are still that skeptical about tuner products than I'll buy the stuff I trust from AEM, Skunk2, DC, Apex-i, Drag etc. and you can build your own stuff out of aluminum foil and than we can race. Or maybe you should go hide under a rock somewhere so the evil tuner market hype cant get to you, quick run before more magazines hit the shelves!!

I've seen Sun's site before. I was looking for other dyno graphs and a more in-depth explanation than what they give. There's no need for insults, either.

This will be debated till the end of time. But I'm sure we can all agree that the stock grounds suck ***.
