Hydrolocking question...
Alright, so I would like to start off by asking you to please not call me a dumbass (lol). I got a true cold air goin' and the part of the cone that was closest to the ground was probably 4-6 inches off the ground. We got 2 1/2 inches of rain and... whoops! Anyway, the car ran like **** and one of the lifters started tapping real bad after it dried out. My dad said it would be okay if I took it easy and that we would adjust the valve lash that weekend. The next morning I'm driving to work crusing at 43 mph in a 45 in 5th gear talking to my g/f on the phone and BOOM... threw a rod, cracked the block, broke a water jacket, put a hole in the oil pan, and on the side of the block there's another leak (haven't pulled the engine yet to find out exactly where that one is.). So, I'm looking around the internet for engines. Found one from gotjdm.com and was wondering if anyone has experience w/ this company. I called them and they said they've been in business for about a year. It's a COMPLETE engine (everythings on it) shipped for 1100.00. It would be around the same from that tigerjdm place, but there's less stuff on the engine. What's your guy's opinions? Thanks alot!
i tihnk motors are things you try to buy in person honestly, that way u can check for everything and not just take the seller's word for it. I think you coulda saved your block if you just changed your oil basically... if it was still running and cranked ok, why not just force the water out and re-lube everything lol
Check this out: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2222306, and if a rod was bent, which would explain why a hole got blown through the block, the motor was on borrowed time anyways.
