HP question?
I am buying an H22A for my 4th gen accord next week and i would like to put out a little over 200 Hp out to the wheels. I was wondering what set ups people have in there ludes (ie minor internal work). Thanks
bro you have to go all out if you talkin 200 to the wheels. Im talkin pistons, under drive pullys. unorthodox racing pulleys, intake exhaust header, maybe turbo, or nitrous, cams cam gears proper fuel ,ignition timing its gonna cost you . So remember theres no such thing as minor tryin to get up that far to get some to the wheels. If you want it cheap gop there and nitro,if not turbo. Then dyno the whip and see how much left you have to go.
Your best bet is to get a good header, free flowing exhaust a carsound cat or something similar ie test pip. Get a chip for ur ecu and a vafc or hondata. Get some stage 1 or 2 cams and cam gears. slighty bigger injector's like 310cc+ and a bigger throttle body. Maybe try a thinner head gasket for more compression. Some good plugs and wires. See how much that get ya.

Dude, that was not useless info. If you know so much, then why are you here asking us?!?

Now, as was said before, 200 whp is not an easy goal if you're going N/A. So let's make a list, starting with the bolt-ons and then moving on from there:
cold air intake (Injen, AEM)
header (Greddy, Mugen, SMSP)
high flow cat (effectiveness is debated, but probably couldn't hurt)
exhaust (for N/A applications, get something quality that you think looks and sounds good)
ps/alt pulleys (AEM, UR; try the crank pulley if you're feeling brave)
bored tb (Lude, ITR or S2000, in order of size; King MS, Proflow, Inline Four among others)
Hondata heatshield IM gasket
P&P IM & head (Portflow, among many others)
cams (Crower stage 2 or Webcams) & valvetrain (valves/springs/retainers)
cam gears
fuel/engine management (V-AFC is an ok start, but if you're serious: Hondata)
That's a good start. Like dude said, then see how far off you are. I would change compression as a last resort, but that's just me...

uhh when someone says i need nitrous and turbo to achieve 200whp on an H22A thats a little ignorant. That would be alot closer to 250+whp. I really want to stay NA for reliability issues. A stock H22A makes around 170 Hp to the wheels. I think Cams and boltons could get me to that point. I was just curious to hear what people are using and how it is working for them. I may be new to the forum but I am not new to cars and especially not new to hondas.

You'll have to show me that dyno because I've seen stock H22 dyno as low as 153 whp (or as high as 163) on a 5 spd base. You know that yeah, the #'s will vary engine-to-engine, but 170? Possible? Maybe, but doubtful, as in I myself have never seen it dude. If you can show me, I'll say it's a freak, it has been known to happen (I think aklucsacrits had one like that...)
And I've seen cars with all the mods that I mentioned still not hit 200 whp. Some of it is their choice of bolt-ons (say a DC header as compared to Greddy or Mugen, an eBay cai as opposed to AEM or Injen), but the real difference will be in the tuning, with the Hondata (or AEM EMS).
