Default how to remove piston and rods?

i have the oil pan off and the extra things out. i see the crank and i have removed the nuts holding the top and bottom part of the rod, but when i push on it, it moves, but the it wont go up. do i have to remove more things? or do i just have to rotate the crank so that the rod is perfectly straight and not at an angle.

Use the handle of the mammer (or other piece of wood/plastic) to tap the actual bolts, first on one side then the other. This will push the rod/piston towards the deck about a half an inch and then it should be easy to turn the crank and the cap should come off pretty easy then. Be careful not to scratch the crank journals.

so i have to loosen all rods before i take any of them out right?

1. remove all nuts from the rods and remove the bottom part of the rod.
2. tap on it with a piece of plastic or something soft that will not do damage to the crank

when i rotate the crank, should all of the rods line up. since they are in different firing orders, there are 2 different positions and i think if i line them up, it will be straight up. does this matter? or should it just go up?

If you do not remove the rod nuts how else are you going to get the rod caps off?

Take the nuts off and THEN tap the bolts to loosen the caps. Once the caps are loose then take the caps off and pull the pistons out of the block. You do not have to rotate anything unless you can't get to the rod bolts to tap on them. Then what whatever you want to your block then buy a helms manual and reassemble as per their instructions:
