Default How to check for problems with the ignition system?

How do you find out where the problem with the ignition system is in terms of my digital 6+, SS coil, wires, rotor, cap, etc. This all goes along with my idling problem with the car going down to 600rpms, and sometimes dying.

I was at the store the other day and as I was pulling in front of the store from my parking spot, my car died. I thought it just stalled again like the problem I have been having, but it didnt started. I cranked it a lot but didnt hear and spark. Battery was ok. So I just pushed my car back to people could go by. Then I opened the hood and took out the plug that goes from the msd ss coil to the distributor, then put it back. Cranked the car and it started right up.

For that day and the day after, my car seemed to idle around 800rpms and never down to even 700rpms. However, a few days after (today) the idle has been going down again towards 700rpm and down in the 600's.

Where do I start troubleshooting? How do I know if the coil is dying or not? Spark plugs are 2 steps colder for my nitrous and are brand new.

Setup: 98 jdm h22a, walbro 255lph pump, msd digital 6+, msd ss coil, msd wires, and plugs.

Could this have something to do with my weak VTEC problem also?
