Help Setting Timing?
I just wanted to know since my cars a 98 with an 0db1 h22a and odb1 conversion and ecu do i have to set the timing? and if i do how do i go about it? i know how to use a timing light but havnt set the timing on an h22 b 4, and since the helms says it doesnt need to be set i dont have anything to go off of. so like what degree and do i use the light on the crank pulley or in the window on the tranny? and do i have to jump the service connector?
Thanks All

props for actually looking at a helms
but the problem is you are looking at the wrong helms
you need a 4th gen prelude helms in order to figure out how to set the timing. the odb2 5th gen prelude automatically does it.
i've never done it but i'll give you a start. basically hookup the timing light. unplug the rubber thing (i dont' know how to describe it other than a stopper) on your transmission (inside the engine bay) its right next to the headers. thats where you point your timing light at (the grooves on the flywheel) from there the procedure i don't know, i just know you loosen your distributor and adjust accordinly, iirc 15 degrees or something like that. but i'm sure some searching or someone more knowledgable than i can chime in.

thanks man and yea i read the manual, i just havnt ever had to set it until i converted it, i kno you have to jump a connector dont you? you cant just adjust it with it running, and at what degree does it set at?
you have to jump the service connector (the blue connector found around the radio section behind the center console...)
the starter ring gear (stock) will have markings for TDC, and 15 degrees BTDC with other dashes for + and - 2 degrees. you want it bang on 15 degrees btdc, so peak combustion occurs at tdc for maximum force on the piston. rotate the dizzy either fore or aft, to set it. after you tighten it back down, be sure to check it again in case your tightening has shifted the position/timing.
