Default code 9 help!!

I recently converted my 99 prelude into obd1. When i first did the conversion i got a code 9. did some research and came to the conclusion that it was a distributor problem , so i changed it out with a brand new one. Code went away . I had no time for driving the car and the idle was messed up on it so i let it sit for a bit, when i finally got some time to work on the idle issue ( when i would come to a stop the car would want to stall ). Started the car and it was hard to start and was sounding bad like it wanted to die , i went and got the car timed properly with the new distributor and i got the code 9 again!! now the car runs really bad when i start it and it is very underpowerd !! Is there something i need to do with the wiring after converting it to obd 1 ??

thanks

You need an obd1 distributor AND you need to rewire it as well. The cyp and ckp are going to run off the distributor instead of at the crank like it was when your car was obd2.

Keep in mind when rewiring that you need to use "shielded wire".

rywire might sell some sort of kit

So I need to rewire inside the distributor or just the connector? Have you done this before? I just find it weird that it ran for about 2weeks with no code . and it ran great, very weird . you think it could be just a defective distributor ?

You need to find a way to get the wires that used to go from the ecu to the crank to now go from the ecu to the distributor. I've never done this before but I can if I wanted to. You can try calling up the guys at rywire and ask them if they sell some kind of conversion kit or you'll have to wire it yourself. Just remember to use shielded wire.
