I have a 99 h22 and i had been driving for about an hr and a half crusing at about 85 when i heard this clank nose and black smoke came out of the exhaust. The car started slowing down and i tried to give it a little bit more gas but noting happend, took it out of gear and it died. The car no longer starts or turns over. I had misshifted a wile back and took it to the shop and they said it probably just need a vavle ajustment after that it ran pritty good but not quite like it used to. Could i have broke a valve off into the combustion chamber from driving on a bint valve to long? Any other ideas

 

did you have a sufficent amount of oil? The same thing happened to me and I didnt have enough oil so the pistons seized(didn't care about engine there was 205,000 miles on it I was planning on getting a new one anyway ). I was traveling at about 70mph when this happened so lets just hope it is not the same thing

 

yeah i had enough oil changed it about 1000 miles before this happened. Maybe oil pump failure? Im pretty sure its seized im having my some one look at it right now. If it is do i have to get a new motor or is a rebuild possible?
