to heavy???
i just did another oil change- and ive been told im alright but ide figure ide ask, i built my motor with acl bearings, and had the crank and rods matched, so i have almost a perfect .015 clearance on everything. Im runnin around 12 pounds now, and currently am running a 20w-50 valvoline synthetic race oil. Is there anything wrong with this, my last engine had issues with starvation but i ran regular 5w-30 in it. i was told i should see no problems, this car sees hardly no cold weather driving, and when it does its started and warmed up inside a heated garage, so should i have any problems?
Is this race oil one of the detergent/antioxidant free oils? I feel like it would be better for the oiling system and bearings with the oxidation preventers in a street car if so... But maybe I'm wrong... is it just for break in?
are you racing this car? baffled oil pan? why the thick oil for winter?
Va isn't *that* cold though, I'm sure you'll be fine, especially with that easy warm up.
