Default Which H22 Engines were available in the U.S.?

I'm looking for information on the H22 motors that were available in the U.S. and for what model cars they were in. I saw the SuperHonda database, as well as the FAQ on this forum, were the H22A1 and the H22A4 the only H22 motors available in the U.S.?

Yeah, in the 4th gen VTEC/SR-V (A1) and all 5th gens (A4). Note that despite the similar engine code there are differences between the base model H22A4 and SH model H22A4.

basically the a1 is 4th gen obd1 motors with 96-2001 obd2 motors are a4.

and a1's are closed deck with a4's being open deck (for the most part)

Um, except the 96 A1 was OBD2.

He said that...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by petern101 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">basically the a1 is 4th gen obd1 motors with 96-2001 obd2 motors are a4.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The only thing that I would make clear is that the 96 h22 is an A1 not an A4.

He implied that all A1s were OBD1, and said that the non-existant '96 A4 was OBD2.

But I think that you picked up on that already.

No only VTEC trim was the SI VTEC. All others were S - F22 and SI - H23
