gasoline usage ..
get chevron... with techron..lol.. only **** i put in my car cause mobil is expensive up the asssssssss...... chevron i've heard from is good, and the price isnt too bad... stay away from arco tho...
I know each company has standards that they are required to keep. But you have to remember that where you live depends on where you get your fuel from. I.E. each refinery has diffrent equipment and there is lots of other diffrences that can cause change. Ever see a Exxon gas truck at a Chevron station? I have and its because these companies all share (to a degree) the same gas. Ever gotten bad gas? (not the burrito kind) It usually came from the staion that supplied it and not from the tanker. Example: I worked for a company that supplied liquid air (oxygen, nitrogen etc.) and depending on the location and requirements for product our company would subcontract out to other companys to deliver product. I know there are companies who shortcut on making fuel in some ways (less additives, lower octane) but use your best judgement since you get what you pay for. Well, most of the time. Happy gas hunting.
we have 93 here at the pumps, and 5 or 6 places around town sell 100 octane unleaded for about $3.50 a gallon. Turbo blue is sold locally as well but not at stations, just performance shops. C12, C16, all of that good stuff (leaded of course) is available here. Just a few blocks away actually.
the only place in cali to get higher than 91 octane is a track or use octane boosters or if you happen tomlive near a border such as lake tahoe you could just go into the other state to fill up, thats the problem with this ******* state they have to put restritions on everyting, oh and yes with 100 octane gas you would notice a differance in the performance of your lude, late
I use 76 whenever possible. This is because they are the only company (so far) to stop using MTBE in all their gas. They've taken the initiative to replace it all with ethanol. I think this is important. MTBE is a groundwater pollutant, and groundwater is an ever-shrinking resource.
Just doing my part.

lucky, anyone know a place in South CALI that sells 93. or where i can get 100 octane. and would 100 octane make a noticable difference in my lude?
I heard that octane in gasoline only help reduce detonation in you car And dont really cause any difference. THATS JUST WAHT I HEARD!!!! Dont quote me on that.
MTBE? whaa? so MOBIL, chevron and the rest use this? Can you gimme some more details about it's affect?
Ethanol has been approved as a replacement additive, and it is not so environmentally destructive. Ethanol for gasoline is produced from Corn in the midwest. California has a plan (they may have passed some sort of motion) to require all gas in the state to be sold with ethanol instead of MTBE. I'm not sure when this is supposed to take effect though, if ever.
I'm sure you could find all lots more information with a google search.
Anyway, that's why I buy 76. Didn't mean to write a book.

so MTBE = more performance than ethanol(corn thingy) ?
I don't have any idea if there's a performance difference, but I don't think they would put something in everyone's gas that would make people angry. I know I don't notice any difference from one gasoline to another.
