where is the fuel filter located on a 5g lude?

 

Next to the firewall, left of center.

If you are planning on replacing you most likey need a banjo wrench. Todays fuel is very clean, I usally change filter every 45,000 miles. Unless you use low grade fuel, like Arco; that gas is dirty and watered down, like my beer...

Good luck. It's completely obnoxious to get to. I wrestled with it for two weekends, finally gave up. It's so far down, there's no way to get any torque on the bottom fuel inlet. The only way I can think to get it off is to have some kind of socket that can grip the top fixture of the filter, and then a long extension.

I'll be taking it to the dealer to change it. **sigh**

 

Get under your car and it will be the only blue thing under there. You hsould go to Auto Zone a get a filter remover and it makes the job a whole lot easier. You aren't going to be able to take it off by hand.

Uhhh he's asking about the FUEL filter not the OIL filter. HUGE differences in ease of changing.

 

Even still, how would one get to the oil filter from UNDER the car?

 

I thought that's how you got to them on the base models?

 

Oh, maybe on the base. I didn't think they'd be all that different, though. Even if there was a clear shot at it from underneath, it's pretty easy from the top. Not much room for a filter wrench, though. I use a rubber kitchen glove.
