Default Foglights Problem!!!!!!

Ok, so I had my foglights for about a year now with no problems. Then the other day I purchased some yellow foglight bulbs. But instead of purchasing H3C I purchased H3 bulbs. But I friend of mine told me that they would still work if I plug in the H3 connection and just ground the bottom. So I did this and it was on for a few minutes then both the foglights went out and one of my headlights are very dim and the high beam doesn't work. I checked all of the fuses and all of them are good. So what the hell is going on??????

Get yourself a multimeter and test the connection to the lightbulb (where it plugs into) and you should get somewhere around 12V, with the lights on. And probably the same for the high beams.

So what should I do if it doesn't get around 12V?

Trace it back till you get to a relay or a fuse, then test right before the relay/fuse and if you get 12 V you know the problem lies after the relay/fuse.

Is it both pass and driver sides that are dim or just one?

Just driver side headlight is dim and none of the foglights work at all.

hopefully this picture helps you in tracing the wires, and where they lead. http://img176.imageshack.us/im...2.jpg Got the picture from Alldata, it's the electrical diagram.
