Default Engine swap/startuing problem.....Please help....

Hey Guys,
I dropped in a JDM H22, and it ran for about 1 month. I then realized that I need to have it rebuilt, so I pulled it back out and had all the work done. Now I finally got around to dropping in the engine again, and I pluged EVERYTHING back in, but it didn't start.
You can see my setup Here I then rechecked EVERYTHING, and tested some things and this is what I found.
At first I thought there was no spark. So I tested my ignition, all my wires, and plugs. They all work. The original coil ground might be bad? I don't know how to check that. But I doubt that:-/ What is another way to test the spark plug? I tested it some ghetto way:-/ I need to figure out if the wire is going to ground.
Fuel is fine, unless the injectors aren't opening, but everything is plugged up right so I think they are.
The start sound REALLY slow! It is spinning VERY slow! Think maybe there isn't enough power in the system? Does the Prelude require a tach adapter for the MSD? It worked fine b4 but maybe now it needs it? I am really lost.
I am 99% sure it isn't fuel.
I am 80% sure it isn't spark.
I think it is electric...
Any input would be VERY MUCH appreciated!!
Thanks guys,
Josh

Josh,

What kind of rebuild di you do? Did you completely strip the motor apart and replace everything from bearings to rings, etc..?? or did you just pull the head off and replaced the head gasket?

So you're saying the starter sounds kind of slow... Well check your battery to see if it needs charging or not.

Next.. I think you might want to check your valve adjustments.. if they're too tight or too loose.. it might cause the engine not too start.

Hope this helps

Hey,
I took the engine out and replaced bearings, rings, oil pump, timing belt, and water pump. I also got the oil pump shimmed. I replaced gaskets too(head, and some various small ones) When I picked it up Peter at PYR said that the valves were already adjusted and that it should start right up.
Yes the starter kinda whins, it is really really slow. Like when I crank the engine it might turn like 1/4 turn. I am gonna go get it tested today, along with my battery.
I will look at my valve adjustment too.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Josh

Doesn't matter if the car hasn't been running for awile, recharge the battery... That is the most simple thing to do, then get the starter tested..

Hey guys,
I got it running again last night. I love it I have the koni's and GC on there too, it is a great ride! The reason it wouldn't turn over was my battery had no cranking amps left..... doh! Oh well I got a new battery and it started on the first crank I am still breaking it in, about how long should I break it in? I was told anywhere from 1000 miles to 3000 miles:confused:
Oh well getting it running made remember why I bought it....It is an AWSOME CAR!!!!!!!!!!
